At my CWolfe Designs! Studio, one of our primary functions is creating custom pieces of art. I’ve found that creating custom art is fun, easy and rewarding – both for me and for you. We’ll follow a process that ensures we develop just exactly what you are looking for – at no risk or obligation to you until the piece is fully conceptualized.
Whether you want to take one of my Celebrate America pieces and adapt it in a customized fashion just for you, or if you want to design an entirely new concept, we’ll follow a simple process. I’ve found that this 3 step process makes it easy.
1. First we’ll discuss exactly you’re looking for. This communication will cover the size of the piece that you envision, the colors and the setting in which it will be displayed. We’ll also consider the materials that will be most appropriate and if it is an original piece, do a rough sketch of the art to make sure that we’re on the same page. There is no charge and no obligation for the consultation and most of the work can be done via email or a few phone calls. We won’t go to the second step until we agree that we have the basic concept in place.
2. After we’ve agreed on the concept, we’ll take one of two paths:
- If your customized work is a version of one of my existing art pieces, then we can discuss the specific customization, materials used, and any necessary changes. If possible I will supply you with a photo shop version of the new piece. Again, this can usually be done via email or – at most – with a few physical mailings going back and forth. If you elect to move forward I’ll collect 1/3 of the estimate at this time (primarily to secure materials).
- If your custom work is a totally original piece, I’ll then do a mock up of the art that we envision (usually a miniature replica). We’ll then discuss to review the mock up and discuss any changes that need to be made. I’ll redo the prototype as much as necessary to the point that you are satisfied that it reflects what you are looking for. There is no charge for the mock up and no obligation to proceed. This usually has to be done using physical mailings or in-person meetings.
After we’ve agreed on the concept, I’ll provide you with a detailed cost and time estimate for the piece. If you elect to move forward I’ll collect 1/3 of the estimate at this time (primarily to secure materials).
3. Creating the finished art is the final step of the process. Once completed, I’ll make sure that you are completely satisfied with the art and will make arrangements for shipping to and/or installation at your location. The remaining amount of the piece will be due at time of receipt.
The degree to which you are involved in the creation of your art is completely up to you. I can work closely with you or do most of the preparation and only involve you at key decision points. Either way, you’ll find the process of creating a piece to be fun, easy and very rewarding.
