36" x 16" DesignPix, a Boulder based website design company, needed a sign to brighten up the office. Brenda was looking for a marquee style sign. After reviewing several sketch options, she chose a three dimension sign with both color and texture. We incorporated the company’s logo and name with raised letters and used a suede background. The “light bulbs” are really wooden balls that are painted with a metallic opalescent color and coated with a clear glaze.

3'x6' Aerogrow International is a publicly traded company in Boulder, Colorado. They had just moved into a new building and were in need of foyer signage to welcome visitors. After meeting with Aerogrow and getting a feel for their office colors and needs, I created a small 9"x 4.5" mock up of the above original piece. Only a few alterations had to be made before creating a beautiful entry piece. Michael Bissonnette, CEO and Founder of Aerogrow, observes “Visitors have taken notice, and commented on the originality and quality of the piece. It adds a class to our corporate image.”

This logo artwork is six feet wide by three feet high, weighing approximately 45 pounds. The Aerogrow logo is hand cut, painted, and coated with a clear hard resin. As an added touch, the leaves were given a realistic texture. The entire logo was then suspended from the base ¾” to enhance the dimensional affect. The base is covered with a copper metallic laminate and edges routered and hand painted. A pin-stripe was added to the edge for additional appeal.

This golf enthusiast liked to collect balls from the various clubs he had played. These plaques can hold 15 or 25 golf balls. The design on the plaque shows a golf hole from tee to green. Display plaques can be designed and painted to hold as many balls as you need. Alphabet plaques can also be designed.

Roughly 2'x3'. Hanging over a fireplace in an entertainment room, this unique piece is for the golf enthusiast and patriot. This particular flag has 184 hand painted golf balls and 200 tees. Another option?? Sure! Logo balls from universities or your own company can be used in lieu of the white balls. Other countries or state flags can also be designed.

The Boulder Country Club has graciously supplied me with hundreds of range balls for use in many various art pieces. The pro shop is efficiently run by Kevin Bolles. Designing a plaque for the entire golf department was both fun and challenging. The choice of materials was obvious, balls and tees – the trick, as any golfer is aware, was in the execution. The result is a distinctive art plaque that resembles a golf flag.

The field of green is a beautiful emerald green velvet paper mounted on a sturdy wooden board. The club logo was hand painted to scale, with a shadow added for depth, then outlined with white tees which are drilled into the backing. Golf balls, securely fastened with screws from the back, surround the logo and then the entire art piece is framed with a 1 1/2" black molding. The back of the piece is covered with a soft protective felt to ensure the preservation of the walls.
